The Estate
Where does De Boe come from? Mention is made of the place De Boe as early as the mid-17th century. In the Middle Ages, 'la boe' was used for anything made of wood or from wood. And the word 'boe' is still translated in dictionaries as wooden barn. Our 'boe' used to be the gardener's cottage of Huis der Boede. The six hectares of land surrounding the farm formerly formed part of the French and English gardens of the estate.
